Oxford International Education Group acquires Universal Higher Education and Universal English

UK PE-backed Oxford International Education Group (OIEG) acquired Melbourne-based private higher education providers Universal Higher Education and Universal English.  

The transaction, which was backed by UK private equity firm THI Investments, brings Bachelor and Master’s programmes into OIEG and provides a ‘scalable base’ for the group as it eyes further expansion across Australia. 

OIEG engaged the BDO deal advisory and M&A tax teams to provide due diligence and structuring support for the transaction.
