BDO welcomes two new partners in Sydney

BDO is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Kastanias and Peter Tracey as our two newest partners in its Sydney office.

Steven Kastanias joins BDO as a Project & Infrastructure Advisory Partner based out of the firm’s Sydney office.

Steven, who starts on 28 September, was previously with Leighton Contractors Infrastructure Investments (now Pacific Partnerships), the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance (Partnerships Victoria) and EY.

He is experienced in major project capital structuring, procurement, divestments, sole-sourcing and public private partnerships (PPP). His experience spans the transport, health, education, defence, social impact sectors as well as infrastructure policy and regulation.

BDO’s Sydney office also welcomes Peter Tracey as a Business Services Partner on 1 October.

Peter was previously the lead partner of KPMG’s Penrith office and is currently a director of a number of charities and not-for-profits including the Adam Crouch Foundation Limited, Thorndale Limited, and the Royce Simmons Foundation.

Peter has a strong presence in the Greater Western Sydney business market, specialising in providing business and taxation advice to small and mid-market enterprises. His client base covers a broad range of sectors including manufacturing, construction, wholesalers, food & beverage, medical, legal and real estate services. He also has strong links into the New South Wales public sector.

“The addition of two experienced partners in Sydney is testament to the strong growth and demand we’ve seen at the firm over the last 12 months,” said Grant Saxon, BDO Sydney Office Managing Partner.

"Both appointments are in line with BDO’s growing market presence in strategically important parts of the New South Wales and national economies. Steven will join our Project and Infrastructure Advisory team, where we work with a number of government agencies and private infrastructure organisations on major projects. Peter will be an important member of the BDO team based in our new Greater Western Sydney office, further bolstering BDO’s commitment to the region.”
