BDO grows partnership with two new appointments
BDO welcomes two new partners this week, including Simon Yoo as a Risk Advisory Services partner in the firm’s Sydney Office, and Mark Beaumont as Business Services partner in the Melbourne office.
Simon joins the Sydney office on 6 December and brings over 29 years of experience working with organisations to improve their operations by assessing internal processes, risk management, and compliance with internal and external policies, and legislation.
Simon was previously at EY Sydney where he was Executive Director, Oceania leader of ASEAN, India and Korea Business Group. He was also previously Managing Partner of Advisory Services in EY Korea.
Simon is also currently a Director of the Australia-Korea Business Council and was formerly a director and National Treasurer of the Australia-India Business Council.
BDO Sydney Office Managing Partner, Grant Saxon, said the firm’s growing Financial Services team would stand to gain from Simon’s expertise and vast international experience.
“We are pleased to welcome Simon Yoo to BDO’s Sydney office as a Risk Advisory partner focussing on Financial Services,” said Mr Saxon.
“With a long history working with banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions, in Australia and across Asia, Simon adds further credentials and scale to BDO’s growing Financial Services team.
“Simon also broadens BDO’s connections with Asian business networks – particularly through his involvement as a Director of the Australia-Korea Business Council and other Asian business groups.”
Mark Beaumont joins BDO Melbourne on 7 December as a Business Services partner. Mark was previously at Deloitte.
Mark brings over 13 years’ experience working with privately owned businesses and their owners to deliver complex advisory, finance function support, core tax and accounting compliance services.
With an interest in working with leading consumer product, retailers and wholesalers Mark also has deep experience advising clients in the professional services, renewable energy and property sectors.
“Mark brings an impressive track record of providing first-rate accounting, taxation and advisory services to privately owned businesses and family groups,” said David Garvey, BDO Melbourne Managing Partner.
“Our business services offering provides exceptional personal service, however large or small the organisation happens to be. With clients ranging from start-ups to businesses exceeding $500 million, Mark’s network and skillsets perfectly complements our strategic focus. We are thrilled to have him join us.”
