Attitudes to reward and remuneration in TMT companies

Do you have the right strategy to retain and attract talent? 

In June 2022, BDO undertook a global survey to understand the attitudes to reward and remuneration in the tech, media and telecommunications sectors to gain insight into: 

  • The nature of the challenge of retaining and attracting talent  
  • The impact it has on pay and bonuses 
  • The role equity plays in incentivising employees 
  • Talent management strategies 
  • The impact of corporate culture. 

The results showed that attitudes to reward and remuneration are underpinned by three key drivers - market demand, individual performance, and equality. 

It’s clear that companies of all sizes need to employ different strategies to attract and retain staff.  

While larger companies can often attract talent through their reputation and competitive salaries, for others, a reward strategy that recognises individual and corporate performance, matched with a comprehensive incentive package underpinned by equality and transparency, is integral to attracting and retaining talent.
