Tali is a CFO Advisory Partner with BDO in Brisbane. She has over 17 years’ accounting experience and specialises in working with our government and public sector clients, including local government entities, to ensure efficient and effective financial management practices within their finance and reporting functions.

Tali has also specialised in providing in-house contract finance and reporting roles—including Director of Finance and Procurement, Finance Manager, and Financial Controller—for a number of public sector clients. While acting in these roles, she has successfully supported and advised our clients on their finance and reporting functions, including establishing these functions; developing, implementing, and improving finance systems, policies, processes, and procedures; assisting with developing and delivering financial, management, and project reporting (including reporting processes); and supporting finance and reporting functions’ ongoing compliance and day-to-day management.

  • Assisting with the establishment of a number of public sector entities and statutory authorities, supporting policy, process, and system development and implementation across corporate functions, finance, accounting, reporting, and procurement
  • Managed and led a statutory authority’s finance and procurement teams as Acting Director of Finance and Procurement
  • Supported a local government agency as Financial Controller to oversee and control the approval of all expenditure, review and improve their financial management practices, and support the development and implementation of improvements
  • Worked with various local government agencies to undertake process development and improvement analysis across their finance and accounting functions
  • Review and advice relating to the capitalisation of project expenditure for a number of public sector entities, including a state government department and a very large local council’s infrastructure project
  • Responsible for developing and preparing key stakeholder reports, such as ad hoc dashboard reporting, monthly board reports, and annual financial statements for a number of public sector departments and statutory authorities.
