Geoff is a Partner in BDO’s Financial Services Audit & Assurance team in Sydney. He mainly provides audit and assurance services to financial services and real estate sector clients, including wealth management; funds management; superannuation; retail and commercial banking; leasing and non-bank lenders; fintechs; digital asset industry participants; and insurance organisations.

Geoff is an experienced risk and assurance professional, as well as an operational risk and compliance expert, with a career spanning multiple financial services sector disciplines, as well as treasury risk management for corporate treasuries in a variety of industries.

His working style is professional and disciplined, with an excellent client service ethic and attention to detail.

Prior to joining BDO in 2018, Geoff was part of a global accounting firm’s financial services risk advisory and audit practices.

  • Independent expert assurance and remediation support - Supported clients with various APRA and ASIC enforceable undertakings, licence conditions, and notices across a range of customer and non-customer relations matters
  • External audit - Managing multiple large and small external audits across various sectors
  • Internal audit - Managing multiple internal audit reviews, including benchmarking risk policies against best practice
  • Risk assurance - Undertaking pre- and post-implementation reviews for new systems with a progress and control validation focus for a number of large Australian clients
  • Risk advisory - Providing commercial and technical advice to clients and leading complex control, risk assessment, and remediation programs.
