Darren is a Partner in BDO’s Debt Advisory team in Brisbane, and BDO’s National Leader of Finance Solutions. His extensive banking experience provides the perfect foundation for identifying solutions to many challenging positions.

Darren is experienced in structuring transactions for ASX-listed corporates; unlisted property syndicates; and syndicated facilities for property and corporate borrowers. Backed by BDO's complete service offering and industry knowledge, he is well placed to lead the debt advisory team to help in any situation.

Prior to joining BDO in 2016, Darren spent 20 years in banking in Australia and New Zealand, gaining a range of lending, restructuring, and recovery experience; building relationships in the legal, banking, finance, property, and business services sectors; and serving clients from the full industry spectrum.

  • Assisted a hospitality club with related tourism, leisure, and aged care entities with a finance package, tendered to multiple financiers, to support their ongoing growth and initiatives
  • Provided advice and assisted with benchmarking and restructuring the finance for a large family-owned agribusiness enterprise
  • Completed the tender and refinance of a syndicate of debts for an ASX-listed company
  • Assisted a large privately-owned land aggregator through a restructure and refinance with a credit fund to facilitate an increase in finance to support other mutual investments
  • Helped a client secure new integrated trade finance and working capital facilities to support food and agribusiness trading
  • Assisted a large professional services firm with restructured debt facilities, including providing new partner capital contribution loans to better suit its financial position and growth ambitions
  • Helped a start-up professional services firm access new working capital facilities to facilitate a de-merger from a larger organisation.
