Executive Summary

Cara is a Chartered Accountant and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for BDO Australia.

As COO, Cara provides vital tactical and operational support to the Chief Executive Partner, and other senior leaders to develop and execute the firm’s overall strategy and vision. In addition to this, Cara provides a key role in the overall risk management framework with a particular focus on Enterprise Risk.

Cara is also responsible for evaluating organisational performance and leading material change management initiatives within the firm.

Experience

Cara has over 20 years’ experience in the accounting industry with both practical experience in insolvency and business services prior to moving into an internal finance role specialising in managerial finance in the role of Chief Financial Officer at BDO Australia.

Professional engagements and activities

Board Member, Netball Queensland Limited: With a passion for netball and women in sport governance, Cara is a director of Netball Queensland Limited and chair of the Finance and Risk Management Committee. Netball Queensland is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout Queensland.
