Natural resources

  • Led the model build of several iron ore mines with operations in WA and SA. The forecast included the consolidation of several mines with different run Life of Mine (LOM).
  • Built a graphite mine financial model for the purpose of a feasibility study with operations in Sri Lanka
  • Updated a financial model for an iron ore mine with ongoing operations in the Northern Territory
  • Financial model update to roll a mining model forward for valuation purposes.

Technology

  • Financial model for a start-up electronic biometric payment system. The model included several scenarios with potential investment in several countries. The model’s purpose was to secure funding of $20 million.

Infrastructure (power, roads, ports and airports)

  • Ports
    • Assisted the development of a financial model for the construction of a port in South Australia for the purpose of grain trading
    • Prepared a valuation report for the purpose of assessing the impairment of a port in the Northern Territory
    • Developed a financial model including a three-way cash flow for an iron ore mine in the Pilbara Region.
  • Assisted the Department of Transport in WA in preparing business cases for different initiatives for the purpose of obtaining the required funding
  • Financial model for the construction of a 72-kilometre highway. The model optimised the use of capital against financial, logistical, geological, and meteorological factors.

Real estate

  • Financial model for a real estate development entity with a ten-year forecast for constructing, selling, and leasing units, including operating a hotel, a school, and a medical clinic.

Energy

  • Developed a financial model for an electricity retailer for the purpose of raising funds
  • Project managed the valuation of a battery manufacturing plant in Canada and a research and development centre in Germany operating as part of Johnson Matthey group
  • Conducted the financial and commercial analysis for a business case aiming to establish and battery industrialisation centre in Queensland.

Financial institutions and fund management

  • Managed a family fund with assets under management above USD 200 million. The fund management included setting up an investment policy statement that reflects the fund’s required risk, returns and liquidity requirements.
