BDO Australia Partner Promotions - 1 July 2022
BDO Australia released annual Partner promotion figures today, announcing 15 new Partners from 1 July spread across the firm in audit (5), tax (1), business services (4) and advisory (5).
In a record year of growth in Partner numbers, the firm appointed 17 lateral hires (with 10 of those from larger global competitors), and five internal promotions in January (an increase of 37 Partners in the year to 1 July 2022), signalling strong client demand for services and continued growth taking BDO’s national tally of Partners to 246, up from 217 for the same time last year.
Ahead of a formal release of financials, the firm has indicated that 2022 will be its strongest year of growth in over ten years and BDO chief executive partner, Tony Schiffmann, attributes this growth to the firm’s distinctive culture and its people.
“Our culture is recognised in the market and is evidenced by the record increase in headcount, including a significant number of lateral hires this year,” said Mr Schiffmann.
“We have invested heavily in recent years and created a standout culture in the profession; it aligns with our brand promise of IDEAS PEOPLE TRUST and is a key element in our retention strategy - and a major drawcard for people looking to join our firm.
“[Post-COVID] people are more discerning about an employer’s attributes and the personal experience that they expect to have in a firm. At BDO, we’ve nurtured a distinctive culture with a strong value set and people are actively seeking out opportunities to work with us.”
BDO enjoys a strong pipeline of future leaders; 16 Directors and Associate Directors were appointed in this latest round of promotions.
