BDO in Australia's A-REIT Survey has been released annually SINCE 1994, making it one of the longest running surveys of Australian Real Estate Investment Trusts (A-REITs) in the country.

The annual survey results report covers topics such as:

  • The top 10 A-REITs of each year
  • Category performance overviews
  • Sector price returns
  • Industry pressure from external forces; i.e. inflation, workforce changes and consumer changes.

BDO in Australia runs the survey and compiles the results in a free-to-access PDF format, on this page you can find a library of past A-REIT survey reports along with the most recent report.

2023 A-REIT Survey

In FY23, the Australian economy grappled with subdued market conditions, high inflation, and significant surges in the cash rate. Australia’s Real Estate Investment Trusts (A-REITs) were susceptible to these challenges and experienced notable fluctuations in their returns throughout FY23.

While A-REITs delivered a positive return of 3.1 per cent, a significant improvement from FY22’s negative return of 15.4 per cent, it remains a stark contrast to FY21’s remarkable positive return of 31 per cent.
