Innovative residential and commercial flooring solutions provider Signature Floors, a leading brand in the Australian and New Zealand markets, was acquired in May 2023 by Brussels headquartered Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.), a global end-to-end flooring giant. BDO Melbourne M&A was appointed by the shareholders of Signature Floors to maximise transaction value through a confidentially managed transaction process. 

Signature Floors has been in operation for over 40 years and the family owned and managed business brand is built on innovation, premium quality and delivery of timely customer solutions. With a national footprint across Australia, operated from a purpose-built facility in Epping situated in Melbourne’s north, and a growing presence in New Zealand, Signature Floors and its team of over 110 highly skilled staff delivered record annual revenue in excess of $80 million in FY22 with continued growth.

BIG is a privately-owned industrial group and a global top 5 player in flooring and material solutions that has been in operation since 1959. B.I.G. and employs over 4,900 people worldwide across production sites in 17 countries in Eurasia, America and Oceania and serve customers in 150 countries. 

BDO brought a cross-disciplinary approach to the mandate and was led by Tony Schiavello, Partner and National Head of M&A and Silvio, Director M&A, who worked seamlessly alongside Jason de Boer, Partner Corporate Tax and Head of Tax BDO. BDO provided negotiation support, financial, tax and commercial advice, and project management from initial offer stage, throughout due diligence and through to successful completion of the transaction. 

We met Silvio and Tony in October 2022 and they did a brilliant job in guiding us through to completion in April 2023. The advice we received was professional, timely and critical to the sale.
